An Open Letter to Every Physician Who
You didn't go to medical school to become a data entry clerk. You went because you wanted to help people — to sit with a frightened patient and actually be there, not buried in a screen trying to remember the right checkbox for a review of systems nobody will ever read.
I know, because I've been on both sides. I've watched attending physicians I admire miss their kids' bedtimes to finish charts. I've talked to dozens of doctors who described the same slow erosion — the joy of medicine replaced by the dread of documentation. Not because they stopped caring, but because the system made caring come second to charting.
That's why I built Scribeable. Not as a business plan. As an act of refusal.

Medicine Became About Covering Yourself
Somewhere along the way, the purpose of a medical note shifted. It stopped being a record of clinical thinking and became a legal shield — a sprawling, templated document designed to prove you didn't commit malpractice rather than to communicate what actually happened with the patient.
The result? Physicians spend two hours of documentation for every one hour of patient care. Residents log 4,000+ hours charting during training. The average primary care physician spends 16 minutes per encounter on the EHR — more than they spend with the patient.
“We trained for a decade to think critically about the sickest people in the room. Instead, we spend our nights feeding a machine that was designed to bill, not to heal.”
This isn't a technology problem. It's a design philosophy problem. EHRs were built around billing requirements, not clinical reasoning. AI scribes from Silicon Valley are building on the same broken foundation — optimizing for throughput, not for the quality of the doctor-patient relationship.
We need something different. Something built by people who understand what it feels like to be the one staying late.
Our Beliefs
What I Believe
Your patient data belongs to you, not Silicon Valley.
We encrypt everything. We never train on your data. We never sell it. Your patients trusted you with their information — we take that just as seriously.
The best medical software is built by people who practice medicine.
Not by product managers guessing what physicians need. Not by engineers who've never set foot in a clinic. By doctors, for doctors.
Every user suggestion makes Scribeable better for everyone.
We read every message. We ship updates weekly. The physicians who use Scribeable are building it alongside us.

A Note on EHR Integration
Let me be transparent: Scribeable is not yet certified on Epic App Orchard or Cerner/Oracle Open marketplace. Those certifications are specifically on our roadmap — they cost $100K+ and take 6-12 months of compliance work. We're actively pursuing them.
Today, Scribeable works seamlessly with every EHR through our browser extension, direct copy-paste, and API export. Physicians using Epic, Cerner, Athena, eClinicalWorks, and dozens of other systems use Scribeable every day without any integration friction.
We're telling you this because other companies wouldn't. That's the difference.
