When it activates
Scribeable activates a calculator from the encounter. The Drug Abuse Screening Test-10 (DAST-10) can activate when the transcript or pasted chart context documents any of these:
- Drug use screening
- Substance use disorder evaluation

A coded diagnosis can also activate it. ICD-10 prefixes carried by the registry: F11, F12, F14, F15, F16, F19.
Note-type scope: it activates on notes whose subject resolves to psychiatry, emergency medicine, hospital medicine. A note that resolves to another subject does not carry it even when the clinician's specialty matches; a note with no resolvable subject (a generic consultation) falls back to the specialty match.

10 yes/no items about drug use in past 12 months. Items scored 1 for "yes" except item 3 scored 1 for "no". Total 0-10.
Interpretation
0: No problems reported. 1-2: Low level — monitor, brief intervention. 3-5: Moderate — brief intervention, possible referral. 6-8: Substantial — intensive assessment and treatment referral. 9-10: Severe — intensive assessment and treatment referral.
