When it activates
Scribeable activates a calculator from the encounter. The Abnormal Involuntary Movement Scale (AIMS) can activate when the transcript or pasted chart context documents any of these:
- Tardive dyskinesia screening
- Antipsychotic side effect monitoring
- Involuntary movement assessment
- Neuroleptic-induced movement disorder

A coded diagnosis can also activate it. ICD-10 prefixes carried by the registry: G24.0, G24.01.
Note-type scope: it activates on notes whose subject resolves to psychiatry, neurology. A note that resolves to another subject does not carry it even when the clinician's specialty matches; a note with no resolvable subject (a generic consultation) falls back to the specialty match.

Scoring
Items 1-4 (facial/oral), 5-7 (extremity/trunk), each 0-4. Total movement score = items 1-7, range 0-28. Items 8-12 (global judgments, dental status) assessed separately.
Interpretation
Score 0-1: No/questionable dyskinesia. Score 2-7: Mild — monitor, consider dose reduction. Score 8-14: Moderate — consider switching antipsychotic, valbenazine/deutetrabenazine. Score ≥15: Severe — urgent medication review, VMAT2 inhibitor indicated.
