03Selecting a Note Type

Choose the right note type for each encounter:

  1. Before generating: After stopping a recording, select the note type from the dropdown before tapping "Generate Note"
  2. After generating: Open a note and tap the format selector at the top to switch types. Your content is preserved — only the structure changes
  3. Default note type: Set your default in Settings so your most-used type is pre-selected

Your specialty setting automatically adjusts section content and formatting within each note type. A Cardiology Progress Note will include different detail than a Family Medicine Progress Note, even though both use the same structure.

04Creating Custom Templates

Professional and Team plans can create custom templates:

  1. Go to Settings → Templates
  2. Tap "Create New Template"
  3. Define your sections and structure
  4. Add any default text or prompts
  5. Save and name your template

Templates can be shared with your team on Team and Enterprise plans.

05Documentation Preferences

Fine-tune how notes are generated regardless of note type:

  • Detail Level: Concise, Standard, or Comprehensive — controls overall note length
  • Plan Items: Minimal, Standard, or Extensive — how detailed the A&P items are
  • Abbreviations: Minimal, Standard, or Aggressive — medical abbreviation usage
  • Practice Style: Conservative, Balanced, or Aggressive — clinical decision framing

These preferences are per-provider and apply across all note types. Set them once in Settings and every note will reflect your style.
