Getting Notes into Epic: A Complete Guide

Scribeable gets your finished note into Epic by copy-paste, or with a one-click insert from the browser extension in Epic's web version. This guide walks you through every step of the setup process.

Integration Options

Scribeable offers multiple ways to get notes into Epic, depending on your organization's setup:

• Copy-Paste: Universal method, works immediately
• Browser Extension: One-click field mapping for Epic web
• SMART on FHIR: planned for health systems, not available yet

Method 1: Copy-Paste (All Users)

The simplest method works with any Epic installation:

• Generate your note in Scribeable
• Tap "Copy to Clipboard" on the note section you want
• Open your patient's chart in Epic
• Navigate to the appropriate note section
• Paste (Ctrl+V or Cmd+V)

Method 2: Browser Extension

For Epic web users, our Chrome extension provides one-click transfer:

• Install the Scribeable Chrome Extension from the Chrome Web Store
• Log in with your Scribeable credentials
• Open your patient chart in Epic (web version)
• Click the Scribeable extension icon
• Select the note to import
• Click "Insert into Epic"—fields map automatically

Planned: SMART on FHIR for Health Systems

A SMART on FHIR app, launched from inside Epic with the patient already in context, is planned for health systems. It is not available yet. Today, copy-paste and the browser extension are the two ways to get a Scribeable note into Epic.
