Referral Program Terms

Last updated 2026-09-23 • version 1.0

These terms add to the Scribeable Terms of Service and do not change them. Questions: [email protected].

1. How it works

Each Scribeable account has a personal referral link. A colleague who creates a new Scribeable account through that link, and whose account is linked to the referral within seven (7) days of being created, is a referred user. The account that shared the link is the referrer. A referral is linked once and cannot be moved to a different referrer.

2. The credit

When a referred user makes their first payment for Scribeable (the amount actually paid, not counting tax, must be more than zero), and that payment has not been refunded or disputed thirty (30) days later, the referred user and the referrer each receive an account credit. Each credit equals one month of the Pro plan at the list price at that time, but is never more than the amount the referred user actually paid, not counting tax.

A referrer whose referrals reach five (5) that each meet the conditions above, are at least one hundred twenty (120) days past the referred user’s first payment, and have not been refunded or disputed, may receive an additional credit equal to twelve (12) months of the Pro plan at the list price at that time. This is reviewed and applied by Scribeable, once per referrer.

3. What a credit is

A credit is a balance on your Scribeable billing account that is applied automatically to your future Scribeable invoices. Credits are not cash, cannot be withdrawn, exchanged or refunded, and are not transferable to another account or person. A credit is applied only to an account billed directly by Scribeable through our web checkout. If you have no billing account yet, the credit is applied when you first subscribe.

4. Who can take part

Self-referrals do not qualify, including referrals between accounts that share an email address, a payment card, or a billing account. Accounts billed through the Apple App Store, accounts on a practice plan billed to a practice, accounts whose subscription is paid by someone else, and accounts in a promotional program that already includes free access do not earn or receive referral credits.

5. Limits

A referrer can earn credits for at most twenty (20) referrals in any twelve (12) month period. Referrals beyond that limit do not earn the referrer a credit.

6. Refunds, disputes and abuse

If the referred user’s payment is refunded or disputed before the credits are applied, no credit is given to either side. If it is refunded or disputed afterwards, credits already applied are not taken back, but the referrer earns no further referral credits. Scribeable may withhold or revoke credits, and end a person’s participation, where we reasonably believe the program is being abused, including through fake accounts, self-referral, or referral payments made to be refunded.

7. Sharing your link

When you share your link, tell the people you share it with that you receive a credit if they subscribe. Do not send your link as unsolicited bulk messages or post it where you are not permitted to.

8. Changes

Scribeable may change or end the referral program at any time. Credits already applied to an account are not affected. Referrals linked before a change keep the terms that applied when they were linked.
